Monday Morning Motivation - Delighting in the Lord
What are the desires of your heart? Your secret prayers that you whisper so softly, hoping that God would somehow hear them?
I've got desires...a whole lot of them. Many times I wonder...I know that my spiritual desires are warranted and will come to pass someday, but what about my worldly desires?
Then I come across this verse that says God will give me the desires of my heart! Celebrations ring in my ears! I'm going to get them...yes!
All I have to do is...'delight' in the Lord. Delight. Be happy right? Oh, I'm happy in the Lord. Is that enough?
Have I understood the depth of this word 'delight'? Taking time to do that right now. Delight means finding a high degree of gratification, an extreme satisfaction, jubilation or reasons to celebrate and rejoice.
That's deep! The understanding of this verse now becomes far more clearer and simpler as I meditate on how do I delight in the Lord...
By knowing and accepting the truth and the fact that He loves me. He loves me more than anyone ever can. By reading His Word regularly so I grow in understanding of this unfathomable love of His. By applying and living out the principles of His teachings that activate and fuel my faith. In this way, I will slowly but surely realize that the longings of my heart and soul can be fulfilled in Christ alone. What is it that this world can give me that can compare to the love, peace and joy found in Christ? In what can I find the meaning of life when I found life worth living for in Christ alone?
