Monday Morning Motivation - Martha's Faith

When He heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed where He was two more days... John 11:4-6

Do you know the story of Lazarus? Mary's brother Lazarus was sick, so they sent word to Jesus saying, 'Lord, the one you love is sick.' And this was what Jesus replied-'this sickness will not end in death.' But guess what? Jesus Himself told His disciples, very plainly, 'Lazarus is dead.'

It's December, the end of the year. Many of us receive promises and a Word from God at the beginning of the year. This year, we were holding on to the promise that we would enlarge the place of our tents, we would spread out to the right and to the left... What's happening in your life right now? Have you/are you seeing this promise come to pass? Or in spite of holding on, as the year comes to a close, you wonder if this promise would too?

When Jesus said Lazarus' sickness would not end in death, IT WOULD NOT!!! Though the situation might have tried to overcome Lazarus and his sister Mary, for whatsoever reasons, when Christ has spoken, it is spoken.

Are you overcome by your situations? Are you feeling it hard to hold on? When Martha saw Jesus come to them, four days after Lazarus' death, she said, 'I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.'

Can we have the faith of Martha? In spite of our situation can we say, 'even now Lord, I know you can change things!' Instead of disbelief, discouragement and being disheartened, can we come to Jesus and tell Him, 'Even now, I believe Lord.'
