YLG Gold Glitter Cold Wax Strips Review

Different things bring back different memories in life. Like waxing. :D Yes...waxing.

When we were in our teens, my BFF, Deann and I would love experimenting will all this stuff...helped us save our pocket money. :D More than that though, it was the fun and excitement and pain of attempting something which we thought anyone could do. We never did get to trying the hot wax ever though since we were always skeptical of burning ourselves.

Well, today, it's become so simple and convenient that literally anyone can easily do this. So, until now I've been using the Veet Full Body Waxing Strips and have been very very content with it. BUT, when I saw the glitter and gold, I fell for the YLG Gold Glitter Strips and just couldn't wait to try them. I was so looking forward to this because of the brand-YLG and the product-Gold Glitter.

RE-USABILITY

So, when I opened the product, the look didn't disappoint at all...the lovely sparkling gold feels like it's going to make your skin shine just like it. There are 20 strips, so the next question is how well can it be re-used. Again, these didn't disappoint. It can be re-used depending on hair growth and pull.

 EASE OF USE

As with other cold wax strips, once you get a hang of how to use them, this definitely is the quickest, safest and most convenient way to get a clean look. If you're using it for the first time, it would be good to follow the instructions on the pack carefully and always remember to pull the strip in the opposite direction of hair growth. There are smaller strips that can be used for upper lip or bikini waxing. However, attempt these sensitive areas only if you are confident and experienced enough in handling the strips, pull and after-care.

PRODUCT

These strips leave the skin nice and smooth and are able to pull off most, if not all hair in one go. Before pulling, try and hold your skin tight and firm so that it would be less painful and more effective. The wax itself has a light pleasant vanilla scent which hopefully distracts the mind from the pain. Post the entire waxing, use the post wax wipes. These are very helpful since they provide the soothing that is much required.

CONS:

The ONLY reason why I, personally wouldn't use or recommend this product again is that it is not eco-friendly.

The strips are made of hard plastic which was not very comfortable as compared to Veet. Since the Veet strips are more flexible and eco-friendly, and have been my go-to for the past 10 years, I'm just going to stick with those.

At this point of time, we desperately need to support companies who are more conscious about their carbon foot-print. I wouldn't want to LOOK GOOD...if my looking good is going to affect my earth negatively.
